Who is Race-Rite?

Patrick Billings

Race-Rite was founded in 2024 by Patrick Billings with the goal of providing thorough, meticulous, transparent services to racers at Harris Hill Raceway. Patrick discovered his passion for all things mechanical early, at the age of 8, when he rebuilt his first engine—in a Suzuki LT185 4wheeler. During his teenage years in southeast Austin, he furthered his automotive skills by installing sound systems in his friends' cars. In 1999, Patrick started his professional career in the automotive industry. He further developed his skills working on high-end vehicles like Ferrari, Lotus, Panoz, and more from 2003 to 2007. His dedication and proficiency earned him a Master Technician certification with Lotus, where he also shared his expertise by teaching training courses. Following this, Patrick immersed himself in working on European cars and engaging in special projects at a local shop, while exploring the realm of race car applications through his family's race cars in his free time. Enjoying the distinct challenges that race cars presented, he has found a deep satisfaction in this particular niche. He is thrilled and eager to share his deep passion for high-performance vehicles with all the valuable customers who walk through the doors of Race-Rite Performance Center.

Patricia Billings (Van Sickle)

Behind the scenes of all the excellent work being done at our shop and by the track is Patrick’s wife, Patricia. Her enduring love of cars and the exhilarating world of racing traces back to 2006, when she attended the iconic Indy 500 as a little girl. Over her early teens to 20s, she eagerly tagged along with her mom to numerous car club meetings and car shows, ultimately leading to a car sales role at the age of 18. After several years in car sales, she made a pivot to a service advisor position at a local automotive shop, where she met Patrick in 2018. Although she later transitioned away from the automotive industry to join her mom’s reputable CPA firm as a dedicated bookkeeper and tax preparer, her passion for racing never waned. Together with Patrick, she discovered a thrilling passion for the exhilarating highs and challenging lows of endurance racing. Patricia finds immense satisfaction in helping Patrick run Race-Rite and is constantly brainstorming and developing innovative ideas for the business that keep it thriving.

Together, Patrick and Patricia have a daughter, Daisy. Daisy attended her first race at just 3 months old and hasn’t slowed down since. When they aren’t at the track, you can find the Billings family traveling, camping, or working on the next exciting ideas for Race-Rite’s customers.

Jake Broomfield

Jake and Patrick first crossed paths in 2010 at a local shop where they both worked. Prior to this encounter, Jake delved into the realm of performance vehicles in 1995, working at a shop specializing mainly in Mazda performance mods. His automotive journey was furthered by attending college automotive classes and undertaking diverse projects such as engine blueprinting and a conversion to run a car on propane. After college, he accepted a job at a family owned shop who had a few race car teams, and he toured all over the US and Canada as a part of their Top Fuel Dragster team in IHRA events. A devoted aficionado of Datsuns, Jake has been an invaluable asset to Team DatZaLady's racing endeavors since 2021. With a wealth of over three decades in the automotive world as a master technician and 15+ years managing shops, he brings passion and knowledge to the Race-Rite team. In his time away from work, Jake finds solace in activities like boating, exploring new destinations, and cherishing quality time with his beloved daughter Lily.
